It's Official
The academy has just received word that our name is now the International Academy of Orthokeratology(IAO). The actual structure was put into place in Orlando at VBD 2011 earlier this year. The new academy has three sections Europe(EurOK), America(OAA ) and Asia. Look for new links with our google group with both Europe and Asia members. Up coming meetings are planned for Europe(June 2012), America(Phoenix, April 19-22, 2012) and Asia (China March 2012). Look for more news as it becomes avaiable on all the exciting happenings in the academy world wide as they become avaiable.

The History of the International Academy
For many of you the new international academy seems to have become a reality almost overnight. The reality of the situation however was quite different. In 2002 at the first Global Orthokeratology Symposium (GOS) it was originally proposed to the attendees who stayed after the main event. This was the same session that saw the formation of the OAA itself as well as a number of other country organizations. ...It was in Phoenix where Marino Formenti took more of an active role in the international academy decision making. Marino, Cary Hezberg and Bruce Williams had become a small committee of advocates for the international entity in US and in Europe...
